We will mitigate the increasing risks connected with climate change by focusing on:
Proper drainage
We work to clean canals and repair drainage pipes to improve the growing dept for the plants.
Improvement of the humus content of the soil
We preserve and improve the top soil’s content of humus to improve the soil’s ability to store water during dry seasons and nutrition during heavy rainfall. Also, a larger humus content in the soil improves the habitat for earthworms and thereby a more favorable environment for plant root growth.
No-till seeding
We use no-till seeding to the extent possible to reduce the CO2 emissions and thereby ensure preservation of the humus content in the top soil. No-till seeding also reduces the disturbance of the living conditions for earthworms and thereby increase the amount of earthworms. Furthermore, this minimizes the fuel consumption and other costs pr. produced ton of grain.
Weather resistant crops
We focus on growing crops with a long growth season and thereby larger root systems as this will minimize the risks connected with extreme weather conditions including periods of drought.
